Fluid Recruiting - Understanding

This article provides users with an understanding of how to think about Fluid Recruiting, the overall investment methodology, strategy for building out Fluid, and upcoming investments in the roadmap.

Fluid Recruiting

Fluid Recruiting is Oracle’s brand new user experience for Oracle Taleo Enterprise Recruiting, built on a modern HTML5 based platform. The user experience is modern, intuitive and mobile ready.

Oracle’s approach to building out Fluid Recruiting focuses on a few key tenants:

1. Deliver a user experience aligned with modern usability paradigms

2. Simplify the recruiter experience, by reducing cognitive load

3. Deliver improvements and optimizations that greatly improve recruiter efficiency, and address long standing pain points

4. Prioritize mobile capabilities in targeted workflows to enable productivity on multiple devices (review capabilities supported on mobile)

Fluid Recruiting is not an HTML rebuild of every capability delivered in the legacy Recruiting Center.  Fluid Recruiting is a blend of functionality that supports core recruiting workflows, as well as new productivity improvements that improve recruiter efficiency.  This means that certain capabilities in legacy Recruiting Center have been retired, in favor of delivering capabilities that improve efficiency and simplicity for recruiters (review frequently asked questions about future functionality).

A few examples of these productivity improvements are:

Fluid Recruiting Roadmap & Delivery Timelines

Fluid Recruiting will continue to be updated on a quarterly basis.  In the upcoming quarters, customers can expect to see the following capabilities.  Note all future looking capabilities are under Safe Harbor.

Safe harbor statement: The following is intended to outline our general product direction. It is intended for information purposes only and may not be incorporated into any contract. It is not a commitment to deliver any material, code, or functionality, and should not be relied upon in making purchasing decisions. The development, release, timing, and pricing of any features or functionality described for Oracle’s products may change and remains at the sole discretion of Oracle Corporation.

Comparison to Legacy Recruiting Capabilities

As mentioned above, Fluid Recruiting is not a feature-for-feature rebuild of Legacy Recruiting.  While the vast, vast majority of capabilities have been brought over from Legacy Recruiting into Fluid Recruiting, others are not planned.  This is for two reasons (a) To create more development bandwidth for the many improvements in Fluid Recruiting, and (b) Decluttering the experience to meet the goals of reduced cognitive load and recruiter efficiency.

Instead of focusing on individual points of what may be different or not present from Legacy Recruiting, customers are encouraged to evaluate Fluid Recruiting as an overall experience compared to Legacy Recruiting.  Based on the many, many improvements that are part of Fluid Recruiting and the feedback of hundreds of customers’ experience, Oracle is extremely confident that Fluid Recruiting is an overall better and more efficient experience.  Oracle continues to be open to inputs for ideas that will enhance the Fluid Recruiting experience, and we encourage you to log/vote on these ideas in Idea Lab.

Continuous investment

Oracle is continuously investing in Fluid Recruiting capabilities to improve the recruiter experience and deliver high value features.  As a key input for future investments, Oracle uses the Customer Connect idea lab as a key input criteria.  If there are capabilities you feel are important to the recruiter experience, we encourage you to log/vote on these ideas in Idea Lab.
